Case Study: A.J. Antunes & Co.

Country: USA - Carol Stream, Illinois
The Company: A.J. Antunes & Co. manufactures industrial controls, foodservice equipment and water filtration systems, distributing to customers all over the world. Well over 30 percent of sales revenues come from international business, and this percentage continues to grow.
The Challenge: Production schedulers didn’t have visibility into real-time information. Finding it cumbersome to pull critical data from multiple report and inquiry screens, the schedulers resorted to a complex, manually managed system of spreadsheets. The resulting schedules couldn’t provide up-to-date demand, supply and inventory data.
The QAD Solution: The company has a long and successful partnership with QAD, and currently runs QAD Enterprise Applications eB2.1. When QAD Production Scheduler became available, decision makers at A.J. Antunes saw the opportunity to help the company’s production schedulers dramatically improve the production scheduling process. With QAD Production Scheduler, all the information they need is visible on one screen, giving the schedulers the tools in hand to quickly respond to fluctuations in demand and supply, and make the best use of capacity and inventory.
The Benefits: The time required for scheduling was reduced by as much as 75 percent. Unchained from cumbersome manual processes, the production schedulers at A.J. Antunes are liberated to be far more efficient and productive. The new software makes it easy for the scheduler to maintain accurate schedules on a daily basis—this ensures accurate information throughout the entire enterprise planning cycle.

Case Study: ANCA Pty Limited

Country: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
The Company: ANCA is a specialist multinational manufacturer and supplier of precision Computer Numerical Controls tool and cutter grinding machines. The company’s products are used in the manufacturing process, specifically in a range of high-precision tooling, grinding and resharpening applications.
The Challenge: ANCA’s manufacturing center is located in Melbourne, Australia and has distribution centers in three separate locations but exports the majority of its products to key markets in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. This set up created some unique administrative and systems challenges, of which the most significant was the lack of networking that caused inefficiencies and excess labor usages.
The QAD Solution: ANCA upgraded to QAD Enterprise Applications eB2 which allowed them to design and implement a fully-integrated EDI ECommerce system networked between all sites, generate substantial efficiencies in inventory, administrative and accounting processes, and provide additional system capacity to readily accommodate future growth.
The Benefits: With a fully integrated system, ANCA has more visible stock and more efficient administrative processes. One major result is that accounting can now reconcile and consolidate the company’s global financial results quickly and easily.

Case Study: Watts Water Technologies

Country: North Andover, MA, USA
The Company: Founded in 1874 as Watts Regulator Company, Watts has grown into a worldwide company with approximately 7,300 employees and operations in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. The company’s strategy to expand its business through strategic acquisitions has led it to complete more than 25 acquisitions since 1999.
The Challenge: With multiple plants, distribution centers and stocking sites deployed across four continents, Watts’ supply chain network stretches far and wide. Moving products efficiently from supplier to production to customer can quickly become a challenge.

The QAD Solution: Watts relies on QAD Enterprise Applications (QAD Enterprise Applications 8.5e) to help improve performance locally on the manufacturing floor as well as throughout an extensive part of its supply chain. The QAD system is currently in place at eight of the company’s manufacturing plants, five of its distribution centers and 70 stocking sites located throughout the United States. It is also being rolled out at its plants in China. And as it adds more businesses to the Watts family, the company continues to bring its new acquisitions in the United States onto the QAD platform.
